Peter Dewar (1886-1923)
1923/24 Obituary 
Peter Dewar was born in 1886, and was educated at the Edinburgh Academy. He served an apprenticeship in general engineering with Thomas Struthers, of Lanark, and subsequently became outside erector with Hunter and Jack, mining and electrical engineers. Subsequently, after a short time as salesman with Albion, he went out to Madras as manager of the Dunlop Rubber Co there.
He died in Madras in May, 1923, at the age of 36.
He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1914.
