Peter Wilson Smith (1863-1929)

Peter Wilson Smith was born in 1863 and was apprenticed as a mill-wright to George Donald and Co, Skene. He continued as a millwright for a number of years, and in 1896 took up electrical engineering, holding positions with various firms as foreman electrician.

In 1901 he was appointed General Manager of Claud Hamilton, Automobile Engineers, of Aberdeen, and subsequently became Managing Director, which position he held until his death, which took place on 18th February, 1929.

He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1914, and transferred to Member in 1917.
