1938 Pilkingtons Tile and Pottery Co changed its name to Pilkington's Tiles Ltd
1945 Subsidiary Boulton Tileries and Co Ltd incorporated
1950 Public company incorporated. The directors, mainly members of the Pilkington family, held 75 percent of the shares; they included Edward Fielden Pilkington, Dorothy Lawrence Pilkington, Denis Fielden Pilkington and Margaret Pilkington, honorary director of the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester. Funding raised to introduce the American process for tile making.
c.1964 Poole Pottery became part of the group[1]
1971 Thomas Tilling acquired a majority interest in the company but Reed International did not sell its 27 percent of the shares, preferring to remain as a minority shareholder[2]
