WE regret to record that a road accident near Daventry on February 22 caused the deaths of Mr. R. A. Johnson, A.R.Ae.S., and his wife.

Reginald Arthur Johnson was born in 1915 at Coventry and served an apprenticeship at Sir W. G. Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft, Ltd., Baginton.

He later joined the planning department of the Rover Company, Ltd., and went to CIBA (A.R.L.), Ltd. then Aero Research, Ltd. in March, 1949, to develop sales of the company's products in the aircraft industry. He travelled extensively for the company on the Continent as well as to more distant parts, including Japan and U.S.A.

Mr. Johnson was a Freeman of the City of Coventry, an Associate of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of the committee of the Cambridge branch of the Society.
