BEGS to assure those who may favour him with their commands in the above line, that they shall have his best attention; and he hopes, by good workmanship and moderate charges, to retain the kind patronage so long bestowed on his father. Woodbridge, April 15, 1859.' 
1866 Advert: 'CHURCH STREET, WOODBRIDGE. TO BE LET, With Possession on the 6th of April next, THE BUSINESS PREMISES and COMFORTABLE RESIDENCE, now in the occupation of Mr. R. W. Allen, Plumber, Glazier, and Painter, whose tenancy expires on the above date. The Property is in the centre of Church Street, and to tradesman with energy, such an opening rarely occurs, the late Mr. Loder Alien and his family having carried on a lucrative business there for nearly a century.
