1891 Listed in Manchester and a Weigh Scale Maker and Employer.[2]

1901 Listed in Chorlton cum Hardy and a Scale Maker and Shop Fitter.[3]

1911 Living at Rose Dene, Port Lewaigue, Ramsey, Isle of Man: Reuben Sutcliffe (age 69 born Manchester), Scale Maker - Employer. With his wife Alice Maud Sutcliffe (age 50 born Manchester) and their five children; Gladys Sutcliffe (age 18 born Manchester); Harold Sutcliffe (age 16 born Manchester); Geoffrey Sutcliffe (age 13 born Manchester); Doris Sutcliffe (age 11 born Manchester); and Clifford Sutcliffe (age 5 born Maughold, Isle of Man.
