c1851 Born in Peckham the son of Thomas Tilling and his wife Cornelia

1861 Living in Winchester House, High Street, Peckham: Thomas Tilling (age 36 born St. Marylebone), Jobmaster employing 60 men. With his wife Cornelia Tilling (age 35 born Walworth, Sy.) and their seven children; Thomas J. Tilling (age 13 born Walworth, Sy.); Hannah C. Tilling (age 11 born Walworth, Sy.); Richard S. Tilling (age 10 born Walworth, Sy.); Elizabeth S. Tilling (age 8 born Walworth, Sy.); Caroline R. Tilling (age 7 born Walworth, Sy.); Edward W. Tilling (age 5 born Peckham); and Tessie M. Tilling (age 2 born Peckham). Two servants.[1]

1874 October 14th. Married at Sutton to Sophia Thorn

1929 Obituary[2] Died aged 78 years. Chairman of Thomas Tilling. The business was established by his father in 1847 and was incorporated in 1896. Married 1874 to Sophia Thorn and has three sons and four daughters. (Other details given).
