1957 Obituary 
ROBERT ARTHUR LEEMING, B.Sc.(Eng.), who was born on 16 January, 1905, died at Amersham on 17 October, 1957.
He was educated at Alleyns School, Dulwich, and obtained his degree from the University of London. In the course of his professional career he gained expert knowledge of many branches of civil engineering, including those of road engineering, sewerage and sewage disposal, docks and harbours, permanent way, land surveying, bridges, and air defence. Eventually, he became Director of Drainage and Irrigation, British Guiana, which position he held until his death.
Mr Leeming was also experienced in the construction of naval barracks and training establishments. During the early part of the 1939-1945 war he was a civil engineeri p the department of the Civil Engineer-in-Chief, and was stationed at H.M. Dockyard, Devonport.
Later he held the post of Superintendent Civil Engineer, Trincomalee, Ceylon.....[more]
