1854 Samuel Beale and Co produced wrought iron plates for Isambard Kingdom Brunel's famous steamship the SS Great Eastern.
1864 Samuel Beale retired and his son William Lansdowne Beale incorporated the company under the name Parkgate Iron Company Limited which was launched as a joint-stock company [3]
1888 The company's name was changed to Parkgate Iron and Steel Co.
