1829: 'To BRASS and IRON FOUNDERS and Others. By Mr Drew. By order of the trustees of the estate of Samuel Thompson, of the Brass and Iron Foundry, Medlock-street, near near Ardwick Bridge, …… All the stock in trade of the said Samuel Thompson, consisting of moulding boxes, smiths' bellows, turning lathes, moulders', smiths' and tuners' tools, anvils, vices, new and old wrought and cast iron, dozens of blocks and ropes, several dozens of crucibles, and a valuable assortment of PATTERNS and other articles used in the business.....' 
1837 February 5th. Died at Belfast, Samuel Thompson, late of this town (Bolton), age 56 years.
