Note: This is a sub-section of School of Ballooning.

Initially named Dirigible No. 3 (after the failure of the two versions of the Nulli Secundus). The maiden flight was on 11th May 1909. This was a non-rigid of 21,000 cubic capacity with a goldbeaters' skin envelope. It was powered by two Buchet 12-hp engines and could carry a crew of two at 20 mph.

In July the engines were replaced by a single REP 25-hp unit.

In 1910 it was upgraded and became the Beta
