1819 Sydney Flavel was born in Coventry, son of William Flavel, an ironmonger, and his wife Edith[1]

1845 An ironmonger when he married Elizabeth Smith in Leamington[2]

1846 Birth of son Sidney Flavel, Junior

1847 Birth of son William (he died in 1848)

1847 Made an indenture of assignment of all his household furniture, plate, and other household effects, stock in trade, debts, and all other his estate and effects, to Samuel Thornton, Hinge Manufacturer, Thomas Belliss, Factor, and William Gough, Factor, all of Birmingham, in trust for the general benefit of his creditors[3]

1849 Birth of daughter Elizabeth

1851 Sidney Flavell 30, kitchen range maker, lived in Milverton, Warwicks, with Elizabeth Flavell 30, Sidney Flavell 5, Elizabeth Flavell 2[4]

1851 Birth of son John, who died later that year
