1957 Simms Motor Units took over Motor and Electronics Corporation[1]. Name changed to Simms Motor and Electronics Corporation[2]
1960 Acquired Cawkell Research and Electronics[3] and Dawe Instruments[4]. Electronics Research Lab. was moved from London Colney to the Park Royal site; Hydraulic Research Lab. was at West Molesey; Product Development Division had been moved into more spacious accomodation at Park Royal where engineering services were available to all divisions, especially those that were too small to have their own engineering departments[5]

1964 Simms Group Research and Development Ltd was established, which would absorb Mono-Cam Ltd and be located at the Park Royal facilities[7]
1965 Simms-Marvel-Schleber JV formed with Borg-Warner to manufacture and market a petrol injection system in the UK[8]
1966 One of the operating companies was Landon Kingsway Ltd which made Wallflame burners and other products[9]
1968 Lucas bid to take-over the company[10] despite monopolistic aspects; the offer was rapidly accepted by shareholders[11]
