1910 As a result of the formation of the Union of South Africa, all the railways and ports were brought under the control of government-appointed Commissioners. The overall organisation was referred to as South African Railways and Harbours[1]. The new system included the Central South African Railways, the Cape Government Railways and the Natal Government Railways.
