Post-WWII The US Sperry Corporation expanded its interests in electronics and computing, producing the company's first digital computer, SPEEDAC, in 1953
This provided the basis for developments of further computers under the Univac brand.
1962 Sperry Corporation formed its Univac division, separating the computer operations from the Remington office products division.
