1971 Formation of new joint venture owned 75 percent by Spillers with J. W. French and Co (which was owned by J. Lyons and Co and the Co-operative Wholesale Society) to bring together their flour milling, baking and animal feed activities in order to reduce over-capacity.[1]
Presumably Spillers French Baking was a subsidiary
1974 Spillers-French Milling Ltd, a subsidiary of Spillers-French Holdings Ltd, supplied flour and wheat offals which are used in the production of biscuits and meal and as ingredients in some canned pet foods.
1978 Sold the baking operations to Ranks Hovis McDougall and then reduced milling capacity[2]
