1890 'On Tuesday next the St. Wilfrid's Home Penny Dinners will commence. Last year about 4,000 dinners were given many of the poorest children in Exeter, and subscriptions, which may be sent to the Mother Superior, Miss Alice Pearse, St. David's-hill, are urgently needed to continue the work.'
