1962 Standard Industrial Holdings purchased Turner and Brown of Bolton, chemical plant engineers and J. W. Jackman and Co of Manchester, foundry equipment makers. Standard Industrial Group purchased Spirella Co of Great Britain, makers of foundation garments. The 2 entities purchased Bulk Storage Ltd and Bulk Storage (Transport) Ltd and John Davis and Son of Derby.
1965 Acquired Glass (Coventry) Ltd, glazing contractors.
1966 Lazard Brothers and Co controlled 22% of the company. Minerals Separation sold their share of Holdings to Group and acquired Richard Cooper and Co (Ashbourne) Ltd which had been contributing about half of the Holding company's profits.
1967 Standard Industrial Group purchased 58% of Allied English Potteries in exchange for 8 million shares which gave S. Pearson and Son a majority holding in SIG. M. Appleson was a wholly owned subsidiary.
1969 Was one of S. Pearson and Son's quoted subsidiaries at the time of the flotation of the parent company; had interests in pottery, glass, engineering and warehousing industries, an issuing house, and Chessington Zoo.
