1919 Attended Manchester Universirt and graduated in 1923 in Mechanical Engineering

Joined David Brown and Sons

1937 Appointed Assistant Chief Engineer

1940 Appointed Chief Engineer

1951 Appointed Professor of Applied Mechanics at the University of Sheffield and retired in 1968, becoming Emeritus Professor

1975 March 7th. Died
