1851 Previously Walker and Burges; the partnership was extended by James Walker and Burges when they admitted their assistant James Cooper

1860 Engineers for the extension of Bute Docks[1]

1861 Wrote to the "The Times" pointing out that they had been invited to provide a design for the new Blackfriars Bridge but they never entered competitions for employment

1862 James Cooper died

1862 Proposed to take Nathaniel Beardmore into partnership but Walker died before this could be finalised.

On the retirement of Mr. Burges the business of the firm was taken over by Messrs. McClean and Stileman with whom Mr. McConnochie remained until March, 1865.[2]
