Webster and Bennett of West Orchard, Coventry were makers of machine tools.
1887 Established as general engineers, formerly Webster and Howarth.
Soon afterwards began to manufacture machine-tools to meet the demands of the cycle industry.
Later developed high-grade machine-tools, specifically vertical boring and turning mills.

1912 Machine tool makers of West Orchard; Ironfounders of Northey Road and Atlas Works, West Orchard [2]
1916 Vertical milling machine.
1924 Machine Tool Makers - Appointed Walter S. Lang and Co, 48, Oswald-street, Glasgow as their sole agents for Scotland for the sale of their products.[3]
1953 Webster and Bennett was jointly owned by John Brown and Co and Wickman Ltd.[4]
1961 Machine tool manufacturers, specialising in vertical boring and turning mills. 410 employees [5]
1982 Webster Bennett developed the new series T CNC vertical spindle boring and turning machine.[6]
1984 John Brown and Co sold the Coventry-based machine tool operations of Wickman Ltd and Webster and Bennett to a consortium headed by Ketlon Ltd who renamed the business Wickman Bennett. [7] [8]
