1965 Wellman, Smith, Owen Engineering Corporation changed its name to Wellman Engineering; business divided into 5 major groups including Wellman Incandescent Furnace Co to concentrate on the thermal engineering activities of the company[1].

1966 Purchased the designs and goodwill of Brayshaw Furnaces Ltd[2].

1967 Formed a natural gas systems division to compete for work in conversion of industrial plant to use natural gas, in conjunction with other parts of the Wellman group[3]. Wellman Incandescent Natural Gas Systems could call on other parts of the Wellman Group, specifically Incandescent Heat Co, W. S. O. Furnaces, Brayshaw Furnaces, Controlled Heat and Air, Manchester Furnace Co, Selas Gas and Engineering Co[4].

1968 Roller-hearth furnace [5]

1970 Sold Metalectric Division to Inductotherm of USA, its licensor[6].
