1955 Western Manufacturing negotiated a deal with Standard-Thomson Corporation of USA to take a 60 percent interest in a new company, Western Thomson Controls, to manufacture the high pressure wax pellet thermostats of Standard-Thomson[1]

1955 '... the transfer of some of the Adamant plant to Western without interfering with ... Western Thomson Controls, the new joint subsidiary, hopes to start production early in the New Year.'[2]
