1881 Alfd. Hy. Dougill 28, steam and hot water engineer, lived in West Leeds, with Mary H. Dougill 26, Alfred William Dougill 3, Ernest Dougill 1, and his sister Eleanor Dougill 20[1]

1901 Alfred H Dougill 48, gas and general electrical engineer, employer, lived in Leeds with Mary H Dougill 45, Ernest Dougill 21, Emily E Dougill 17, Frank Dougill 13, George Dougill 8, Reginald Dougill 3[2]

1903 Became an Associate Member of Inst of Mech Engineers; managing director of Alfred Dougill and Co of George Street, Leeds[3]

1906 of Dougill's Engineering

1907 Bankruptcy order: Alfred H. Dougill, residing at 5 Vernon Road, and carrying on business at 34 Great George Street, both in the city of Leeds, engineer.[4]
