1864 September 21st. Formed in the home of the first secretary Thomas Whitwell Founders were Jeremiah Head, Thomas Wrightson and Thomas Whitwell. Others present were David Joy, Thomas Howard Head, Ernest Hutchinson and Alfred Clayton Hill. Forty-two members joined at this time.
