1804 Marriage notice: 'Yesterday se'ennight, Mr. Edward Appleton of Smedley, near this town, to Miss mary Emery, of Staffordshire[1]

1810 Advertisement for sale of paper mill, logwood mill, dyehouse, etc., at Smedley, due to bankruptcy of William (Jr.) (see William Appleton (Paper Maker)) and Edward Appleton[2]

1820 Edward Appleton of Smedley died on 17th January, in the 42nd year of his age[3]
