1987 P. and W. MacLellan, an agricultural parts supplier, was taken over by entrepreneur Philip Ling[1]. The company then acquired Haden Group in a reverse take-over and Haleworth Holdings, both private companies. The new group would be known as Haden MacLellan Holdings.
Made several acquisitions and disposals.
1988 Acquired Butterley Engineering[2]
1990 Acquired Smith Engineering. Developed Drypure, a paint waste recycling system, which proved to be a disappointment commercially[3]
1996 Acquired Industrial Fastener Supplies[4]
1999 Continued fall in business for its painting systems, process engineering and fasteners[5]
2006 Voluntarily wound-up[6]
