1838 ' On Friday week, an enormous boiler attracted the attention o many whilst being conveyed from the foundry of Messrs. Edwards and Co., of Hanley, to Lord Talbot's collieries, at Brereton. It was 25 feet long, 10½ wide, and high.'[1]
