1835 Sale Notice: 'ENGINEERS, MILLWRIGHTS, FOUNDERS, &c.
To be SOLD or LET, ORCHARD LANE FOUNDERY and MANUFACTORY, Southampton, the whole of which has been built within the last fourteen years, expressly for the present business, since which period a very considerable trade has been carried on. The premises are very compact and convenient, and are furnished with every accommodation in cranes, lathes, &c, &c. Any person wishing enter upon such a business, will find this worthy of notice. The Advertiser is anxious to devote his whole attention, in another part of the kingdom, to his new patent Locomotive Steam-Engine, to which he invites the attention of all practical engineers, and gentlemen of science, to whom he will be happy to show it.
Particulars respecting the business may be known by application to J. White, on the premises, by letter, post-paid.
N. B.— J. White respectfully informs his Friends that the Business will carry on as usual until disposed of.'<ref>Salisbury and Winchester Journal, 2 March 1835
