1942 Obituary 
REGINALD DADE SPURR was born on the 8th July, 1878, and died on the 9th January, 1942.
After serving an apprenticeship at Hull he continued his practical training at the electricity works at Birmingham and Poplar.
He then went to the British Westinghouse Co. as an erecting engineer, and in 1907 took up an appointment with the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Electric Power Co. as Resident Engineer in their Ilkeston power station, which position he held until the early part of 1910, when he was appointed Chief Assistant Engineer in the Ilkeston Corporation Electricity and Tramway Department.
At the end of 1911 he joined the Bradford Corporation Electricity Department as a shift engineer, and three years later became Electrical Constructional Engineer and Substation Superintendent.
In 1922 he was appointed Chief Assistant Engineer in the Sunderland Electricity Department and was subsequently promoted to the position of Deputy Borough Electrical Engineer in 1935, which appointment he retained until his death.
He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1917 and a Member in 1939.
He leaves a widow, one son and three daughters
