He designed and patented a range of ingenious machinery and equipment. He also designed specialized components, including cylinder liners for engines, ideally manufactured by the centrifugal casting process.
His son V. W. Oubridge succeeded him as managing director and W. N. Lindley took on the chairmanship.

William Arthur Oubridge was born in 1880 and apprenticed to engineering with Noakes and Co., of London.
He died on 2nd January, 1942, at the age of 61.
He was elected a Member in 1934.
